The Concept Behind

When we think about the appearance there is always the possibility of development. Hence, Minoar is passionate to collaborate & present a lifestyle union towards a complete silhouette with the jewelry works of Atelier Hon’ne.

Atelier Hon’ne is an artisan jewelry brand founded and handcrafted by Hong Kong based artist and jeweler Savia Chan.
“Hon-ne” is a Japanese word, defined as “what a person truly believes”; or more simply, one’s true feelings.
In Japanese there exists a traditional aesthetic philosophy of “wabi-sabi”, a state of mind and a way of being. The art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in earthiness, Wabi-Sabi reveres authenticity above all else. Savia brings this philosophy to her jewelry by blending ancient goldsmith techniques and contemporary elements.

Inspired by Kintsugi – the Japanese art of
repairing broken pottery with gold.

The philosophy behind Kintsugi is to accentuate the breakage and celebrates its history by rendering the fault-lines with precious veins of gold without any attempt at concealment. Indeed, the process often makes the repaired piece even more beautiful than the original, revitalizing it with new life.

Dedicated to embracing authenticity, each piece of Hon’ne jewelry carries a message which imbues it with an inherent sense of uniqueness, the end result producing meaningful wearable artifacts of the modern era to its wearers.
